A Bit of Background
Here at North Star, we are driven by the need for personal protective equipment in essential sectors of our society. Currently, we have deployed our masks in Salvation Army COVID-19 Testing Centers around Washington. During these dangerous times, we want to connect these people in need with personal protective equipment that has been tested and developed to eliminate the risk of COVID-19 entering the respiratory system.

We have used a particle sensor to detect the amount of 0.3 micrometer particles that can enter into the mask with an airtight seal. Considering that COVID-19 particles generally sit on 0.3 micrometer particles or bigger, we have developed a full face mask that is attached to respiratory filter that could be considered as P100 or N100. Ultimately these masks are highly effective at filtering out COVID-19 particles, and frontline workers could wear these to protect themselves and keep the fight against the spread of COVID-19 strong.

Air Mask offers continuous protection that adapts to your lifestyle.
Its form-fitting headband, and open-air feel make it as comfortable as wearing a baseball cap.
Air Mask uses Air Curtain technology to circulate purified air over the user’s face.
The air purifier uses a class 1 anti-viral/anti-bacterial filter with a Viral Filtration Efficacy of 99.99%.
Active circulation prevents fog accumulation on the inside of the mask.
In addition to the Air Curtain, Air Mask provides full face protection via face shield.
Research by Jennifer Veltman, M.D., at Loma Linda University, shows that face shields protect from 96% of harmful particles at immediate exposure and 68% over a duration of 30 minutes.
The combination of Air Curtain technology with a face shield allows Air Mask to retain an open air feel without compromising the integrity of its respiratory protection.

Cleaning Process
Twist the filter off the adapter
Dip the masks in soap water for 10 minutes
Rinse the masks with hot water
Let the masks dry
Keep in mind this process relies on the extent the washer carries out strong hygienic practices. After cleaning and drying, twist the filter back on, and the mask is ready for use.
